A SPOKEN WORD COMMUNITY BY COLLECTIVE UNI

The Outspoken began in 2013 when workshops were facilitated for high schools on Wednesday afternoons. 10 years and countless workshops later The Outspoken is still creating spaces for people of all ages & backgrounds to tell their stories through the art form of spoken word poetry.

What We Do

  • Workshops

    We prioritise creating opportunities for anyone and everyone to give spoken word poetry a go. As a result, we facilitate fortnightly workshops for this reason.

  • Showcase Events

    As a collective of poets, we work on projects over a number of months which is capped off with an opportunity for poets to share their original work.

  • Community

    We’ve found that writers often create in isolation which is why we love to come together and support each other. All are welcome despite background or belief.
